India is a vast country, Imagine teaching a class of 200 students in a room so small that you can't even turn around.
Imagine children standing outside the classroom door, and straining to listen, because there is no room for them inside.
Imagine thousands of children who do not attend school because they are needed in factories or have failed school or dropped out by Grade 3. Imagine schools where children have no playgrounds in which to play or books to read. here in Canada we cannot even imaging our kids in such a dramatic situation, with hardly any clothes to wear, or being able to have money to buy food let alone books with which to study. what can new teachers who have just graduated do about it. what a way to receive experience in teaching by volunteering in a country that has the shortage of Teachers, who can tell me does making money mean so much (yes i know we need money) but cant we give our time in such a way to help others have a chance in life. Myself i will be going to an Asian country in November while i am there i will be giving free English lessons. (I know thats not for everone)!

When would a teaching job overseas begin?
Most schools begin their school year in August or September. Depending on hiring needs, you could be offered a position as late as the preceding July, although most hiring is complete by May or June. Sometimes teaching positions are available in January at the start of the second school semester, and sometimes teachers are needed in the middle of a term. Can a teacher choose where they want to teach? All Teachers should be flexible and open minded in terms of where they will teach. Teachers can choose regions in which they ideally would like to be considered for a teaching position, but an international school outside your preferred region may extend a job offer, which you are free to accept or reject. Does a teacher have to be certified to teach overseas? In most cases teachers must be certified due to school or host country requirements; however, some schools will accept non-certified teachers that have extensive teaching experience. or a TESOL dipolma with certifications |

I've thought and i was not a trained teacher. If you like kids you should enjoy it. You will have to stay on your toes though. Teenage boys seemed to be the most prone to intimidation tactics especially if that's all you have in a particular class until they find out you know what you're talking about anyway. |

Determine Ur category of ambition: To determine which category your should aim for, you must do a realistic evaluation of your qualifications. For example, if you do not yet have a BA or equivalent degree and or a TESOL diploma, you may be limited to working temporary at low-skill teaching employment, or working under the table without a visa. Obviously if you have an advanced degree and are fluent in the language of the country you are aiming for, you stand a much better chance of landing a professional job. This is especially true in Asia where many Asian-Americans and Asian-Canadians are finding their fluency in English and an Asian language to be a highly sought-after skill in the business community and plubic school sector. While it may be pretty easy for anyone with a BA to land a job teaching English in Asia, that doesn't necessarily mean it is a job you will do well at or even enjoy. Remember that you never get something for nothing and thinking you will cash in on a foreign job is not a good strategy for international employment. After all, there is a reason that salaries are higher in certain parts of the world - either the cost of living is higher or the conditions are difficult and justify the "hardship" pay. With all of this in mind, those seeking international teaching employment should realize that if their goal is a career-oriented job overseas, they will need to plan and train for the position just as hard if not harder than they would for a similar position at home. |

Whatever your dream may look like, Unless you have an TESOL diploma it is an issue on how you can teach English.
For a lot of folks, a lack of certification proves to be an insurmountable roadblock. your working overseas dreams remain just that: a (dreams). You can start up fast. You don’t need years of formal training. You don’t have to claw your way up a ladder. Require very little investment. That means you can get started with virtually no risk. i say to encourage anyone to get TESOL certified cause without a certification in other countries you could end up in JAIL. now i say this to everyone's benefits, and what i write on here i don't received and compensation for at all, it is solely intended for your future investment. |

Things to do when you feel yourself getting homesickness.
1 Email your family and friends that you want to wish a happy holiday. 2 Immerse yourself in your new surrounds the sense of community might be just what you need to get in the spirit. 3 Go over your lessons planning, and leading class activities. 4 You should try to learn and practice new games. 5 Try to make new friends, call other new teachers. 6 Get out and move around with another teacher, take pictures, as you see the sights and meet people you will feel joyous. 7 Focus on what you can teach your class, and how you can make a differance in their lives. |
