Japan info - specifically Nagoya

I spent three years teaching near Nagoya in Central Japan. It was a nice city and located between Tokyo and Osaka so there were lots of travel opportunities to those cities and beyond.

The city has a great facility for foreigners called the Nagoya International Center. It had everything you needed as a foreigner living in Japan Here's the website:

There were also a couple really good magazines that were published in Nagoya for the foreign community. One was called Avenues and dealt with upscale topics like culture, dining and travel within Japan. The e-mail address for Avenues is:

The other magazine was called Japanzine. It was the opposite of Avenues. It was funny and low-brow and really geared for English teachers. Here's the e-mail address for Japanzine:

Look for the Ask Kazuhide section. It's like an Anne Landers column for foreigners in Japan and is tasteless, politically incorrect and hilarious.
Steven,
the school you have been teaching in, can you recommend their website?
thanks

The school I was at was named New Age English School. I am still in contact with one of the teachers there and right now they aren't looking for anyone.
It is a very small school and they only employ a couple of foreign teachers at a time.
AEON, GEOS and BERLITZ are some of the bigger companies in Japan that employ English teachers and are worth a look.
